THE LIVING ASCENT CREED
A reminder of what the map is for — and what it can never say about a human being.
The Living Ascent Creed
Life is not a mountain. It is a mountain range.
We live across many mountains at once.
We stand at different levels on each.
The mountains influence one another.
Sometimes we ascend. Sometimes we descend and rebuild.
Sometimes we return to Base Camp.
Sometimes we rest long enough to acclimate to who we are becoming.
There is grace for where we are and discipline for where we’re going.
Our altitude never determines our worth.
We are not trying to conquer the mountains. We are allowing the climb to transform the climber.
What the climb forms in us can remain even when circumstances change our altitude.
And eventually, what we learn on terrain we have genuinely traveled can help someone else find their way.
